Kingfisher Blue Kingfisher blue, I came looking for you Brilliant blue, lit up by the sun You called as you flew, kingfisher blue And you and the river were one You and the river were one I sat by the millpond, the swallows came low They dipped and they wheeled in the sky Skimming the water, you shot from a bow Your brilliant blue arrow flew by The following day you paused by the bank You hung in the air on my breath A hummingbird's hover, dragonfly whirr Angel blue wings overhead I walked through the meadow the very next day There was blue in the hay by the path Tiny blue feathers, scattered around An icy blue bolt through my heart I gathered them up in a little brown box And brought them back home just to keep They seemed drab and lifeless, no river, no sun Nothing else left but to weep Each moment is precious, each life is a gift Hold tight to the ones that you love Treasure the simple, the natural things The sun and the sky high above Kingfisher blue, I came looking for you Brilliant blue, lit up by the sun You called as you flew, kingfisher blue And you and the river were one You and the river were one

Shapes in the sky When I look up at those shapes in the sky Swirling so high in the sun's evening glow I like to dream of what we might create The joy we would take If the world moved as one Wings beating, hearts racing Crisscrossing, merging Swaying and turning And tumbling down Billowing ribbons Write words in the heavens Waves crash on hilltops The reeds fill with sound Flapping wings whisper like reeds in the wind In the pale sky feel my heart rise Feel my heart rise Shapes in the sky

Winter days are almost gone Seems so long since spring was here Raindrops hanging from the blackthorn tree Tell me won’t you tell me when they’ll sing for me Dreaming of the nightingales X4 Marching down the forest path Cold boots splashing in the muddy clay Thought I heard a yaffle laugh Waiting always waiting for that special day Dreaming of the nightingales X4 Pilgrim stumbling through a darkened wood Praying for a sound on the thin night air Hymns of gladness to a hollow moon Tell me won’t you tell me that they’ll be here soon Oh tell me, won’t you tell me That I’ll be home soon Ploughing with the horses In the fields beneath the hill Tell me, won’t you tell me You’ll be waiting there for me With the sounds of children playing As the peacetime church bells peal Dreaming of the nightingales X4 Sounds of madness in a blood red dawn But nightingales were singing the whole night through Ringing out the changes for a better world I'm hoping always hoping that you'll hear them too." Dreaming of the nightingales X4

Twilight Meet me when the robin sings Early in the morning Twilight change to sunlit dreams Orange colours glowing Meet me where the blossom falls For my soul is burning Together we can live the dawn Feel the day returning We stand beside the trees Cherry petals falling And I, follow, follow, follow you Follow you home Follow you home Follow you home
